Sleepaholic is operated by Sleepaholic (owned by Dylen Belanger & John Blackwood, Canada). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights. It applies to our mobile application and website at sleepaholicapp.com.

Information We Collect

  • Account & Contact: email address and basic profile needed to create and manage your account.
  • App Activity You Log: bedtime/wake times, sleep duration/consistency, streaks, and any notes/journals you add.
  • Habits You Log: caffeine and alcohol intake, workouts, and related context you choose to track.
  • Phone-Use Context (for enforcement): configuration choices for Do Not Disturb, grayscale, and app-blocking rules inside Sleepaholic.
  • Diagnostics & Analytics (optional): app events, device info, and performance data to improve reliability and features.
  • Support: messages you send to support@sleepaholicapp.com.

How We Use Information

  • Provide and operate the app (accounts, syncing, security).
  • Enable Sleepaholic’s enforcement features (DND, grayscale, app blocking) based on your chosen schedule and rules.
  • Generate personalized insights (e.g., sleep debt and consistency suggestions).
  • Process subscriptions and free trials (via Apple In-App Purchase through Superwall).
  • Improve reliability, performance, and usability (analytics/diagnostics, if enabled).
  • Respond to support requests and communicate important service updates.
  • Comply with legal obligations and prevent fraud/abuse.

Legal Bases (PIPEDA / similar)

We rely on your consent, performance of our agreement with you (providing the service you requested), and our legitimate interests (e.g., app security and improvement). Where required, we will ask for your explicit consent (e.g., sensitive habit/sleep inputs you choose to log).

Third Parties

  • Firebase (Google): Authentication (required). Optional: Analytics/Crash reporting. Data may be processed on servers outside Canada.
  • Superwall: Paywall management and Apple In-App Purchase orchestration (no card data is collected by us).

We do not sell your personal information. We share only as necessary to operate the app, comply with law, or protect our rights/users.

Data Retention

We retain account data while your account is active. You can delete your account in the app or by contacting support. We may retain minimal records as required by law, security, or dispute resolution.

Your Rights

  • Access, correct, export, or delete your data.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
  • Object or restrict certain processing (subject to applicable law).

Children

Sleepaholic is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child provided us data, contact us to remove it.

We use commercially reasonable safeguards to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
